Colorado junior running back Dallan Hayden plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Hayden joined the Buffaloes in 2024 after two seasons at Ohio State. He was primarily a backup in 2024, but came on strong in 2025 after missing the first few games of the season with an injury. He finished the year with 349 rushing yards on 70 carries and one touchdown.
The Memphis, Tennessee, native looked like the Buffs' best running back for most of the 2025 season, but Colorado was unable to build a consistent rushing attack for him to really thrive.
Hayden is set to enter the portal when it opens on Jan. 2 with one year of eligibility remaining.
The running back joins a growing list of notable Buffaloes planning to transfer. As of Dec. 27, that group includes linebacker Shaun Myers, edge Alexander McPherson, wide receiver Omarion Miller, safety Tawfiq Byard, DT Jehiem Oatis, LB Mantrez Walker, and DT Brandon Davis-Swain, among others.
Colorado's running back position is likely to be addressed through the transfer portal, with Micah Welch as the only true tailback currently set to be on the 2026 roster.
