Cologne in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ellyes Skhiri
In the event that Cologne’s move for West Ham’s Edson Álvarez falls through, the Billy Goats are weighing up alternatives. On that list is former player Ellyes Skhiri, currently at Eintracht Frankfurt with one-year remaining on his current deal.
According to a report by Bild, Frankfurt have placed Skhiri on the transfer list for around €2m, a figure that isn’t a problem for Cologne. Additionally, unlike Álvarez, Skhiri’s salary isn’t an obstacle for René Wagner’s side either. Additionally, talks are already in place and if a move for Álvarez does fail, expect their pursuit of Skhiri to intensify.
It’s already been a busy summer for Cologne, who are undergoing a rebuild following the departure of Lukas Kwasniok in March 2026. They’ve already secured a move for Nürnberg’s Luka Lochoshvili and have signed Jahmai Simpson-Pusey and Tom Krauß on a permanent basis. Additionally, they’re nearing moves for Gideon Mensah and Paul Okon-Engstler.
