Cody Bellinger's 4/20 streak ends for disappointing Yankees schedule reason originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Cody Bellinger has proven he knows how to take flight on April 20th.
This year, though, Bellinger won't get a chance to extend his 4/20 streak.
It began in 2023, when Bellinger hit a home run on April 20.
Then in 2024, he homered on this date again.
In 2025? Yep, a home run on the 20th of April.
But in 2026, it can't happen.
Major League Baseball gave Bellinger's Yankees an off-day on April 20. There's no home runs to be hit with no game.
One of the greatest streaks in sports history ends today.

Bellinger heads into the off day on fire.
He's had at least one hit in each of the past five days.
That included a two-homer game on Saturday in a 13-4 win over the Royals.
Then on Sunday, a 7-0 Yankees win, Bellinger had a double and two walks.
He has raised his season OPS to .841 with the hot stretch.
The Yankees will be back in action on Tuesday night at Fenway Park against the rival Boston Red Sox.
