As the tournament's No. 1 overall seed, the Duke Blue Devils are gearing up to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament behind head coach Jon Scheyer. Along with Scheyer, Duke has the ACC Player of the Year in Cameron Boozer and Isaiah Evans, who's averaging 14.9 points per game.
Former Duke head coach and previous head coach of Team USA Basketball, Coach K, recently made an appearance on ESPN, revealing his thoughts on Scheyer and the direction of the program.
“Jon Scheyer has such a feel for the game of basketball and he was a national champion for me,” said Krzyzewski. "He was ready and he's doing such a great job. (...) He relates so well to these guys and I love what he's done."
Although Scheyer has yet to earn an NCAA title as a coach, he's helped Duke lift back-to-back ACC titles and has a stellar record of 121-24 in his first four seasons, including a Final Four appearance.
With the NCAA Tournament beginning Thursday, all eyes will be on Duke, as the No. 1 team in the nation hopes to lift their first national title since 2015.
