Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods believes that his game resembles Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.

Woods has been lauded for his quickness, as well as his overall explosiveness in lead up to the 2026 NFL Draft. The Alabama native’s athleticism at 310 pounds has him projected to be a first-round pick on most draft boards. In the interior defensive line, Simmons represents the finest that the NFL has to offer at defensive tackle, having been named first-team All-Pro in 2025.

According to ESPN’s Turron Davenport, Woods views Simmons as a player who matches his versatility at the next level.

“Clemson DT Peter Woods listed Jeffrey Simmons as one of his top 5 NFL DTs,” Davenport said. “He sees similarities in their games in terms of versatility being able to play anywhere from 0 - 5 tech.”

Simmons is held in high esteem across the NFL. Among those who appreciate his game is Dallas Cowboys DT Quinnen Williams, who lauded Simmons as a viable candidate to win the 2026 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Simmons is as good a player for Woods to hold in high regard at the position.
