Live Updates from Day 2 of the CIAC basketball championships at Mohegan Sun Arena, Sunday, March 22, 2026 (Sean Patrick Bowley/Hearst Connecticut Media)
Welcome back for another exciting day of Connecticut High School sports, where 10 teams vie for the remaining five state championships Sunday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in both boys basketball and girls basketball. We're here to take you along for the ride as GametimeCT basketball writers Scott Ericson and Joe Morelli share their thoughts as the championship games unfold.
They've already broken down each of the five championship games for both the CIAC boys tournament and CIAC girls tournament, complete with their predictions and how you can watch each game on the NFHS Network (a subscription is required).
Take a look back at how the tournaments went in each of our complete scoreboards for boys and girls.
Just in case you've forgotten what the top 10 polls looked like when the state tournaments began, you can take a look at the final regular season polls for boys and girls.
And of course, you can watch Scott and Hoops Morelli break down this weekend's games on the latest edition of the Courtside Podcast.
Also, don't forget to take a look back at Saturday's action.
Sunday's schedule
Division V boys
No. 1 Stafford (21-4) vs. No. 3 Hartford Public (20-6), 10 a.m.
What to know about Division V boys basketball
This is the first appearance for Stafford since 1953, its only other appearance, a win over Suffield.
This is the 12th appearance for Hartford Public, having gone 3-8 previously.
Hartford Public was a storied high school basketball program long before Marcus Camby arrived. The Owls fell to Wilbur Cross four times in the finals between 1967-85. The program's last finals' appearance was in 2008.
Now playing in the Greater Hartford Conference, it's been a resurgence, winning the league tournament title and now making it to the final weekend.
Stafford is making its first finals' appearance in 73 years. The Bulldogs had to hold off a comeback by fellow NCCC program Coventry, which trailed by as many as 17 points in the semifnals.
Colin Tozier finished with 31. Tozier vs. Hartford Public's Jaiden Booth (an exceptional football player, as well) this morning should be fun.
Division III girls
No. 4 Seymour (25-2) vs. No. 2 Coventry (26-2), 12:30 p.m.
Division III boys
No. 3 SMSA (23-3) vs. No. 4 Stratford (21-4), 3 p.m.
Division II boys
No. 1 Windsor (26-2) vs. No. 7 Bunnell (22-5), 6:15 p.m.
Division IV girls
No. 7 Stonington (19-7) vs. No. 1 Morgan (24-2), 8:30 p.m.
