The Kansas City Chiefs' defensive line was filled with veteran players who gave their best efforts during a challenging 2025 season. The group was missing an emerging pass rusher whose season ended in the preseason.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, the former Kansas State standout, sustained a significant hamstring injury during the Chiefs' loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the second preseason game. He was placed on injured reserve and was forced to sit out the entire 2025 season, stalling the momentum he built up in his sophomore campaign.
"Yeah, that's a tough thing. I mean, that's, he's (Anudike-Uzomah) worked hard, so we'll see where it goes," said Reid to reporters during training camp, "I can't tell you how long it's going to be, but any time for that is disappointing for him. I know because he works so stinking hard."
Anudike-Uzomah earned more playing time during the 2024 season, contributing more than he did in his rookie year, finishing with 27 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He was viewed as a potential breakout player going into the 2025 season before the injury.
The Chiefs are hopeful he can regain strength and be an impact player in 2026.
