Yep… It’s that day.

Is it just me, or does April Fools’ Day just not hit the same anymore? Maybe it’s because the world is already flooded with misinformation, so every day kind of feels like April 1. Or maybe it’s because I’m in my mid-30s and slowly turning into the “old man yelling at clouds.”

Probably both.

I still remember back in 2007 when I pranked my poor mom by telling her I totaled my brand-new Nissan Maxima on the freeway because I was on my phone. She was distraught… and then, eventually, she laughed it off.

(For what it’s worth, I actually totaled that Maxima two years later. Karma is real.)

Anyway…

April Fools’ Day is especially brutal in the MMA news cycle. Every headline, every clip, every “breaking” story — you’ve got to double-check it twice before even thinking about reacting.

And let’s be honest: some of these are actually clever… while others are just painful.

Here are some of the best — and worst — pranks floating around social media today:

Arman Tsarukyan posted this last night before April Fools’ Day hit America — and no lie, he got me.

Michael Chiesa, who retired last weekend at UFC Seattle, is unretiring.

When one door closes, another one opens.

Both Sean O’Malley and Aiemann Zahabi were in on the joke by saying their UFC White House bout is now an interim title fight.

Bo Nickal is going to coach at one of his rival colleges, Iowa.

Regional fighter Erko Jun is fighting Conor McGregor in Brave.

Jake Paul’s next opponent revealed

UFC is starting a Master’s division, and former Australian UFC fighter Elvis Sinosic is returning.

Top regional promotion Cage Warriors has added new Speedos (shout out Dennis Hallman).

Nina Drama is going to compete in Powerslap.

So yeah, be safe and don’t get fooled today.
