Despite hovering near the cut line for much of Wednesday's second round, Charlie Woods missed the cut at the North & South Men's Amateur at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in North Carolina.
Woods, a rising senior at The Benjamin School and the son of golf legend Tiger Woods, finished at 7-over-par through 36 holes at Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4.
Woods was one shot outside the projected cut line with four holes remaining in his second round. He closed with two bogeys, a triple bogey and another bogey over his final four holes, falling six shots short of advancing to match play.
The top 31 golfers made the cut at the North & South Men's Amateur to advance to match play competition, which will begin Thursday.
Here was the leaderboard after the first two rounds:
Pinehurst's No. 2 has hosted five major championships, including four U.S. Open championships, most recently in 2024.
It is considered an "anchor site" for the United States Golf Association and will host four more U.S. Open tournaments through 2050.
