Former UFC lightweight champion and current BMF titleholder Charles Oliveira reacted to the tragic passing of longtime teammate and friend Allan Nascimento.
“Today I lost a brother that fighting gave me. Thank you forever for sharing the mats, the training, and everything we’ve been through together,” Oliveira wrote on Instagram. “I have nothing but gratitude for having you by my side, brother—in training, in our corner, and in all the moments we shared. On Monday, the Brazilian flyweight suffered an apparent heart attack in his sleep. He was found unresponsive and declared deceased at the scene by first responders.
A member of the famed Chute Boxe Diego Lima team, Nascimento made six octagon appearances, amassing a 4-2 record. He compiled a 22-7 career record with 16 of his 22 wins coming by way of submission. He was 34.
