It's the matchup everyone's been talking about in the NBA. No, it's not the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks playing for a championship. It's actually Charles Barkley vs. the women in San Antonio.

This has been a running joke for Barkley for literal decades, and perhaps with the NBA Finals coming to Alamo City, there are going to be more jokes made on Inside The NBA. But if you're here and you haven't heard about this, you might be wondering: What the heck is up with that?

We have a little bit of history to go over to help you out. Here's a look back:

When did Charles Barkley start ripping on San Antonio women?

He's been calling them "Big ol' women" in the early 2010s, with his commentary about "churros" going viral.

Barkley kept going at San Antonio women endlessly... and the women responded

This was the perfect way to respond. They ripped on his baldness, his weight, and so on.

Tim Duncan's girlfriend at the time wore a shirt in 2014 saying, "Barkley doesn't know."

Barkley refused to apologize for his comments

Back in 2014, he had this to say on the air:

"If you don't like me or the show, turn it off. And they want me to apologize. That's not going to happen. That's not gonna happen. You all can write letters to your momma, your daddy, your uncle. I'm going to have fun on television. You know that I'm joking around. But if y'all waiting on me to apologize, hell gonna freeze over."

Charles Barkley eventually apologized to San Antonio women... sort of.

In 2017, it was... a half apology, as he continued to ruthlessly mock the women. Here's what he said:

"I want to apologize to the women of San Antonio. Ernie, I had churros last night. I see what all the excitement is about! I had churros last night. Man ... them damn things good, Ernie. Them churros good. I see why they got all them big ol' women down in San Antonio. Man, them churros are the bomb!"

We're sure all of this history is going to be dredged up by the Inside The NBA crew or by Barkley himself.
