The Chargers have reached an agreement to sign running back Keaton Mitchell to a two-year, $9.25 million contract. The deal includes $5 million in fully guaranteed money and can reach a maximum value of $11.25 million through incentives.

Mitchell became an unrestricted free agent after the Ravens declined to offer him a restricted free agent tender. Known for his speed and explosive playmaking ability, Mitchell averaged an impressive 6.3 yards per carry over three seasons in Baltimore.

The move reunites Mitchell with general manager Joe Hortiz, who was part of the Ravens' front office when Mitchell was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Mitchell is expected to provide a "change of pace" element to a backfield that includes Omarion Hampton and Kimani Vidal under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.

Before his professional career, Mitchell was one of the most polished running backs in East Carolina school history, finishing third all-time in rushing yards with 3,027 over the course of three seasons.
