Well, it looks like Brendan Sorsby won't be joining the Canadian Football League either.
The CFL told Sorsby he would not be playing in their league this year either.
"Upholding the integrity of the league and ensuring fair competition are paramount to the CFL," the CFL said in a statement to USA Today. "The allegations involving Brendan Sorsby are serious and concerning.
"At this time, the CFL will not register a contract for him, and no team will be permitted to add him to its negotiation list."
That may come as a surprise because the CFL let former NFL running back Ricky Williams play in their league after the NFL suspended him for substance abuse.
But as with the NFL, gambling is an issue that the CFL takes seriously. So, unless he sues, Sorsby is all but out of options. He decided to leave Texas Tech after the Big 12 threatened to sue the school over the issue.
The school and Sorsby decided to part ways, and then he announced he would make himself eligible for the NFL Supplemental Draft, but the NFL decided not to hold the draft because of Sorsby's gambling issues.
Where Sorsby turns to next is anybody's guess.
