Celtic are in talks to sign FC Aarau striker Elias Filet as manager Martin O’Neill looks to strengthen the Hoops’ attacking ranks, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri. Celtic want to defend their Scottish Premiership title next term, and the Bhoys are keen to bring Filet to the Parkhead club. They have accelerated their pursuit of the Frenchman, holding a video conference call with his agent on Tuesday. Celtic want to reach an agreement with Filet before holding talks with Aarau.
The 24-year-old has 20 goals and four assists in 34 Swiss Challenge League games since joining the second-tier club in January 2025. A move to Celtic could appeal to him but Belgian club KRC Genk and French club FC Lorient also want him. Lorient are also in contact with his representatives and are preparing a concrete offer for him. Celtic offering Champions League football could work in their advantage and more talks are expected in the coming days.
