Dani Ceballos insists he is leaving Real Madrid with “peace of mind” after announcing his departure from the Spanish giants by mutual agreement after nine years at the club.
In seven seasons as part of the first team, the midfielder made 215 appearances and won 16 titles, including three Champions League titles, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, two LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
The 29-year-old is believed to have had one year remaining on his current deal. He spent 2019-21 on loan at Arsenal.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Ceballos wrote on Friday: "After nine years, the time has come to close one of the most important chapters of my life.
"It hasn’t been an easy decision. Nor has it been an easy year, and perhaps precisely for that reason, I felt it was time to bring this chapter to a close and face a new challenge with the same enthusiasm I had when I first arrived."
