The Georgia Bulldogs have high expectations again entering the 2026 college football season. Georgia has won back-to-back SEC championships and returns tons of key contributors from last season including quarterback Gunner Stockton and running back Nate Frazier.

CBS Sports has Georgia as their No. 3 ranked team in the country this spring. The Bulldogs have a manageable schedule in nonconference play in 2026, but Georgia, like the rest of the SEC, plays in nine conference games.

The Bulldogs' most likely losses would be at Alabama or at Ole Miss. Georgia lost to both teams in 2025. Beyond those games, Georgia could run into trouble against Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech or at South Carolina. Georgia will probably be favored in all these games, but there's no easy games in this group. Oklahoma made the College Football Playoff a season ago and both Georgia Tech and Florida played Georgia close.

"An early-season loss to Arkansas, Oklahoma or Vanderbilt ahead of the showdown at Alabama on Oct. 10 would potentially derail the campaign for the Bulldogs," Brad Crawford of CBS Sports wrote. "The back half of the schedule post-Ole Miss is soft in terms of roster comparisons, so it would take an upset loss to Georgia Tech to hit this critically low number of wins."

Georgia's margin of error has decreased in the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) era, so it is not unrealistic for Georgia to have a 8-4 season. However, as long as quarterback Gunner Stockton stays healthy, it is difficult to envision Georgia's season going down that path.

Georgia has not had four losses during the regular season since Year 1 of the Kirby Smart era in 2016. The Bulldogs have too much talent to lose to inferior opponents.

We'll get a first look at Georgia's 2026 team in the spring game on Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. ET (televised on ESPN+).
