Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Cash Jones is making an impact with the Atlanta Falcons in training camp. Jones hauled in a touchdown catch from quarterback Michael Penix during drills. Penix found Jones out of the backfield for a touchdown. Following the score, Jones celebrated with his former college teammate wide receiver Zachariah Branch.
Jones is hoping to make the Falcons' 53-man roster after going undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft. Jones faces a big training camp and preseason that will be critical for his NFL future.
Jones is known more for his ability as a pass-catcher than as a rusher. He's also capable of contributing on special teams for the Falcons. If Jones can continue to make plays, then he'll have a shot at making Atlanta's practice squad or roster. The former Georgia back was recently named as the Falcons' most likely undrafted free agent to make their roster.
At Georgia, Jones primarily was a third-down back. Last season, he had 13 carries for 15 rushing yards. He was a more productive pass-catching option and posted 20 receptions for 195 receiving yards and a touchdown in 2025. Jones also made some key plays on special teams.
