Carson Hocever came home with a 17th-place finish at Martinsville Speedway; however, it wasn't an easy race. In the Final Stage, Hocevar was run over by Bubba Wallace, who spearheaded a multi-car wreck coming out of Turn 4. The No. 77 car had massive damage, but he was able to salvage a top-20 finish.

Following the race, Hocevar discussed his 17th-place finish at Martinsville, and while he is disappointed with the result, it was a good finish considering the circumstances.

“I wish we would have finished better," Hocevar said. "We were really fast. I’m really proud of the speed my No. 77 guys put into our Camaro. We really didn’t need the debris caution in the middle of the green-flag cycle, and then got run over. It’s all part of short track racing. Happy for these guys to get a well-deserved week off next week, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to run the truck at Rockingham before getting back in the Cup car at Bristol.”

Hocevar has been one of NASCAR's most polarizing drivers to start the 2026 Cup Series season, putting himself in prime contention for the Chase. Entering NASCAR's first off weekend, Hocevar sits 15th in the point standings and hopes to widen the gap between himself and the Chase bubble moving forward.
