RG Cameron Spikes has only a light hold on the starting spot. Fourth-round pick Alex Stepanovich and second-year man Reggie Wells will challenge Spikes.

Anquan Boldin is already a star receiver, and first-round pick Larry Fitzgerald figures to be one, too. However, WR Bryant Johnson is faster than both of them and could give the Cardinals the deep threat they need if he can improve. Johnson needs to be more consistent in each aspect of his game.

Defensive tackles analysis

This has been a trouble spot despite efforts to upgrade the position. But now there appears to be enough talent and depth to make an improvement. Starter Kenny King has good quickness and instincts and can make plays. He's being pushed by Wendell Bryant and rookie Darnell Dockett. Bryant has been a disappointment; bouncing between tackle and end has hampered his development. He's staying at tackle now and seems to be responding to some solid coaching. The coaches are excited about Dockett because he can break into the backfield. Russell Davis is the other starter and often will line up over the center. He doesn't have a firm hold on the starter's job; Marcus Bell is providing the challenge. Dockett or Bryant also could slide into Davis' position.

Because of this one thought, I expect an improvement in our d-line play this year.

re: D-tackles

After reading this, one wonders whether it's TANNER who is the likely odd man out.
