Writes a guy who said Daryl Washington would never be a big time NFL player.

Every one of us has missed on players. Especially me. All I have to do is write one sentence about a Cardinal player being good and he immediately goes in the tank. It can even happen in the "game thread".

I'm pretty sure that I didn't say that exactly. I thought that he was too small, and I doubted that he could put on the weight to really be successful. He has managed to put on the weight without losing speed, but he still gets washed out in the run game.

I think Choppers right K9. Unless Colledge takes a substantial pay cut, he's probably an ex-Card. We're close to the cap & have other players needing extensions. And yes I feel comfortable in Watford & Cooper!

I think that Colledge probably is gone. I'm more questioning the blind faith that people have in Earl Watford, who can't even get himself active on game days and who Darren Urban is still reporting "has a ways to go" to contribute on the field.

What is the evidence that Earl Watford is good? That he was successful in the same situations where Ryan Williams was successful--against guys now waiting by the phone while checking groceries at the Piggly Wiggly? Is there somehow more evidence that Earl Watford was good than that Senio Kelemete is good?

Let's put this Oline in perspective.

So well - UDFA who was cut by the Colts who have huge Oline issues themselves.

Colledge - 2nd rd pick. Playing with a recovering leg injury.

Sendlein - UDFA

Faniaka - 7th rd pick and IIRC was out of football last year.

Winston - 3rd rd pick who has been cut the two previous seasons.

Two UDFA's and a 7th rd pick, small wonder the Oline struggles. Meanwhile we have two 4th rd picks sitting on the bench.

Get Coop back next year, draft a LT early, hope Watford has been seasoned enough and Massie develops then we will have a decent Oline.

Sowell - UDFA who was cut by the Colts who have huge Oline issues themselves.

Doesn't mean he doesn't play well for us. He is not the answer at LT, but he is better than most of the interior guys out on the field with him, and probably could give Winston and Massie a run for their money at RT.

See Cardinals release UDFA Brian Hoyer, QB when the Cardinals have QB issues themselves. Seemed to work out pretty well for Cleveland.

Brought to you from the head of "Bradley Sowell for RG in 2014"

As for Earl Watford ?

Hope is not a plan.

Agreed.

But, Paul Fanaika can easily play RG for the Cardinals next year......or whom I obviously prefer, give Bradley Sowell a shot at the position.

He is a professional athlete, don't give me this bunk that he cannot play guard. I guarantee he can play there, the question is would he be any good at it.

On your last point: play and play well is not a distinction without difference.

100% agree.

But to not try it would be madness, IMO. Sowell has the athleticism to play the position, he has shown that, I just question if he has the strength. Not to mention his attitude, and effort are what the Cardinals have been lacking on the offensive line.
