Cards Find Creative Way To Lose

The Cards I believe became the first team to find a way to use the new kickoff rules to lose. Aside from kicking the ball out of bounds only kicking it short would have given the Seahawks their best chance to win. Same old Cardinals and I was dumb enough to think they were a playoff contending team!

Doesn’t matter how stupid the rule is…you’re a professional and you know the rule.

HAHA! Everyone... this was my fault! I take 100% of the responsibility for this loss. 33 seconds left on the clock and right before it happened, while at the game I tell my son, why don't they try to kick the ball in the landing area with a squib kick. I swear to God JG has my seat tapped because he thought it was a good idea too. What the double hockey sticks are they listening to me for?

My issue is that if it was time issue, would a few more seconds added by a touchback really have made that much difference? Sheez! This team is scared to win!

Harry, reference the fatal kickoff, and I'm wondering if this had any impact on the kick? Keep in mind, we just had a big 4th quarter comeback. Demercado's TD brought us to within a point, but we still needed an extra point to tie. As fans we take extra points for granted, but it's possible that kickers don't. So, when he made it Ryland's adrenaline must have been high and he was probably pretty pumped. So, he had to remind himself not to kick it into the end zone. And, he simply took too much off his fast ball, to borrow a baseball analogy. A possibility?

And I don't know when the Long Snapper was introduced. So that brings me to the following question. Will teams start using a kickoff specialist. I think it's possible if other teams suffer the same fate as we just did.

Sure, though he seems to stay cool. Hitting it into the approved zone is not how kickers trained on the way up. Average return allowed is 28 yds (25 for Cards). Seahawks have been averaging 32yds returns(one of the NFL’s best). Considering time left I’d have kicked it out of the end zone.
