What is most impressive about these additions to the Cardinals roster is the promtness with which they occurred. While there are no head turners among them, it demonstrates the Cardinals personnel office being pro-active in targeting players to aquire.

Well is do like the Byrd signing. He looked pretty good in Pre-season and I hope he can put it together this season. The rest I know very little about.

I too am surprised by the speed with which the FO has made these signings. All are needed depth positions. Byrd is the only one that I really know anything about, but I am impressed that they signed him as I thought he should have been kept rather than Spach. I can still see him blocking at the second level on a couple of occasions. One was on a scoring play. I think he really backs up both Becht, and Patrick, as he can both block and receive. I have confidence in our scouting team to believe that the others can contirbute as competition for positions as well. That has served Whiz and company well so far.

I hope that they soon start working to bring in a couple of proven line-backers too, maybe not world beaters, but solid acquisitions.
