Cardinals Players Offer Kids Camps

Tempe, Arizona — Arizona Cardinals players and team
mascot Big Red will offer Gatorade Junior Training
Camps for Valley elementary students on Tuesday,
February 10 and Thursday, February 12.

On Tuesday, running back Josh Scobey will visit Curry
Elementary School, 1974 E. Meadow Drive, Tempe from
9-11 a.m. The camp contact is Amy Singer
(480/967-8933). Later that afternoon, defensive lineman
Kenny King greets students at Isaac Imes Elementary
School, 55th Avenue, Glendale from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The
camp contact is Christina Pineda (623/842-8220).

On Thursday, Scobey will be at Santan Elementary
School, 1550 E. Chandler Heights Road, Chandler from
9:15-11:15 a.m. The camp contact is Ann Landis
(480/883-4693). King will exercise with students at
Brooks Academy, 3146 E. Weir, Phoenix from 1:30-3:30
p.m. The camp contact is Russ McDonald (602/232-4200).

Jim O., a question for ya. I don't remember the Cards doing all these community things back in the early 90's. Is this something realitively new?

Stump Mitchell and Roy Green used to come to our Pop Warner practices, but it was not a team sponsored thing. I don't remember any of the other Cardinals ever being at my son's schools or functions.

To the point of my post, I think the community activities by the Cardinals organization including their charity work put them in a class far above all the other sports franchises in town. Congratulations to them on a job well done.
