Cardinals | NOT close to signing Reid

A source "close" to Andy Reid tells ESPN's Adam Schefter a deal with the Cardinals is "not close," though "some believe" he is Arizona's top choice.

Being fed contradictory information, Schefter concedes the only thing obvious about Reid and Arizona's courtship is that it is "never dull." Cards VP of Media Relations Mark Dalton tweeted Tuesday evening he's "99 percent sure that reports of a deal being 95 percent done are 100 percent incorrect." Very well then. NFL.com has reported Reid will stress his ability to "fix" Kevin Kolb in negotiations, while FOX Philadelphia believes talks could fall apart if Reid insists on being a package deal with confidant and recently deposed Browns GM Tom Heckert.

Regarding Reid's supposed plan to "fix" Kevin Kolb, unless Andy is calling up members of the media on an hourly basis, how would word of this get out to the press unless Andy or someone close to him was playing PR games.

It's pretty much a re-run of Manning's visit here. A lot of prognostication (which I was guilty of buying into) and rumors and innuendo.

My sources are telling me that the hang up with Reid has to do with the 401k and the team matching his contribution. He is however impressed with the vision plan, paid holidays, vacation on day one, and the premium parking.
