The Arizona Cardinals are in the market for a quarterback yet again after a miserable 2025 campaign that saw them go 3-14. Former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray got injured early in the season and never saw the field again the rest of the way. Arizona has used a first-round pick on a quarterback twice in the last eight years, and while they may not take one that high next week, they could end up taking a flyer on one in the later rounds.

Former Penn State quarterback Drew Allar was widely expected to be an early first-round pick this year, but his stock plummeted after a disappointing season that was lost due to injury. Despite his hardships, teams have still shown interest in him, with the Cardinals being the latest. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported that Allar had a visit in Arizona on Tuesday ahead of the NFL Draft.

The former Nittany Lions quarterback also visited with the New York Jets last month as he tries to get as much exposure as possible. Despite his uneven play last season, Allar may very well still be the No. 2 quarterback behind Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza.

There has been some smoke about former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson being taken in the first round, but if that doesn’t happen, it’s anyone’s guess as to who the next signal caller will be or when they will be drafted. Just last year we saw college star Shedeur Sanders slide all the way to the fifth round, where he was selected by the Cleveland Browns, after being universally considered a first-round pick.

The truth is, we just don’t know what teams’ draft boards look like, so Allar could be beloved in NFL front offices and the public has no idea. The draft begins next Thursday, so it’s only a matter of time before the strong-armed quarterback finds out where he’s going.
