Found this site and some great historical highlights of the Cardinals.

For you who only know the Cardinals from 1988 please check out the 1975 Cardinals. WOW all i can say is goosebumbs. Me and my Dad where at a couple of those games. (Washington and Dallas). Watch T. Metcalf and Mel Gray.

I also went back and watched the 1975 video. I had truly forgotten how good Norm Thompson was. Playing opposite of Werhli had to make you good or you were bound to fail.

One thing I recognize from watching the 2 videos is how important a potent running game is to a passing attack. I think that this is going to have to be true this year if we want to repeat as NFC West champs.

Good thing the '75 Cards didn't have a Neil Rackers kicking. They'd have been 7-7.

one thing that jumped out for me is this: Coryell was an innovator that hasn't gotten his due.

I saw bubble screens to wide outs, backs split wide as wrs, that supposed WCO invented three step timing slant route to beat a blitz --

all happening to great effect in 1975.
