Lots of things have been unpredictable for the Vancouver Canucks this season, but the results of the fan-voted team’s best defenceman award were not. Tonight, in the team's last game of the 2024-25 season, the Canucks are revealing the winners of all five team awards. Earlier, it was revealed that Canucks Captain Quinn Hughes has won the Walter (Babe) Pratt Trophy, making this his sixth consecutive season winning this award.

Though his season has been hampered with injuries, Hughes is still the team’s leading scorer with 16 goals and 60 assists — so far. Despite only playing 67 games, he is third in the NHL in points by a defenseman, passed only by Cale Makar and Zach Werenski. On Monday night, he tied Alex Edler’s career point total as a member of the Canucks, notching his 409th off of Jake DeBrusk’s overtime winner. As the game progresses, fans will be watching carefully to see if Hughes can break the record tonight.
