Great Britian's tennis underdog Arthur Fery continued his impressive Wimbledon run on Wednesday, defeating ninth-ranked Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinals at the historic tournament.

Could Fery actually win Wimbledon, even if he was ranked outside of the 100 when the tournament started?

Well, history points in a very positive direction. Per ESPN, Fery is the first male player to make the Wimbledon semifinals without being a top-100 player since Goran Ivanisevic in 2001.

Of course, Ivanisevic won the tournament outright to complete his stellar underdog run. Could Fery follow in his footsteps? What a story that would be!

Just a reminder — a ranking is just a number

We bet tennis fans in the UK will be watching with much anticipation once Fery takes the court in the semis.

If he pulled off the upset and won the tournament, he'd be a Wimbledon legend like Ivanisevic.

What's unique about Fery's journey?

Check out how close he lived to Wimbledon growing up.
