By playing in the final of AFCON 2025 against Morocco on Sunday, January 18, 2026, Sadio Mané has a golden opportunity to equal, or even break, a record held by Samuel Eto’o in the competition.

Sadio Mané has been involved in 20 goals at AFCON (11 goals, 9 assists), just one contribution short of the current record holder, Samuel Eto’o, who boasts 21 contributions (18 goals, 3 assists).

So, if he manages to score or provide an assist, the Al-Nassr winger could break this long-standing record held by the former Cameroon international.

With 2 goals and 3 assists so far, Sadio Mané stands out as one of the top Lions of Teranga in the tournament. Coach Pape Thiaw is counting on him to deliver Senegal’s second continental title, following their triumph in 2021.

If he doesn’t manage to surpass Samuel Eto’o’s record in this final, Sadio Mané may never get another chance, as he has stated this will be his last appearance in the competition’s final.
