A school in Caldwell County will not have a varsity football team this year.
West Caldwell High School says it’s for the safety of their students.
The school says it has a lack of juniors and seniors.
Coaches say they cannot send their freshmen and sophomores to play against fully grown athletes.
The JV program will go on this year, and coaches say they will reevaluate having a varsity team next year.
