The Seattle Mariners offense continues to deal against American League West opponents, as evidenced by a resounding 13-1 rout of the Texas Rangers on Friday night.
Offensive performances by Rowdy Tellez, Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez helped lad the M's. The scoring began in the fourth inning for Seattle as Raleigh started the jolt with his 11th home run of the season. He followed that up in the fifth with a grand slam for his second bomb of the afternoon, making it a 5-0 advantage for Seattle.
Ben Williamson and Rhylan Thomas hopped on the offensive train, along with Tellez, to extended the Mariners' lead to 8-0.
Julio Rodriguez got his chance to add some insurance for Seattle with his fifth long ball of the season in the sixth to make it a 10-0. The offense of Seattle would finally settle down until the top half of the ninth, as Thomas would add A sac hit and J.P. Crawford smashed an RBI double to finish off the scoring.
Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo had a solid outing, with 6.1 innings of scoreless ball, only allowing one hit and punching out eight Rangers.
The M's look to take the series with a win Saturday as they send out Luis Castillo to go against Texas' Patrick Corbin at a 4:05 p.m. PDT in Arlington.
