The chemistry between Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell continues to build up ahead of the new WNBA campaign, as the two Indiana Fever stars work on their games in the preseason.
In fact, during practice on Monday, Clark didn’t hide her delight after Mitchell made a remarkable play.

Clark was hyped when Mitchell converted an and-one during her drive and reverse layup. The two celebrated by dapping up and sharing a chest bump.
The Fever took note of the interaction and shared a video of the moment on social media, writing, “Kelsey Mitchell AND-1 got Caitlin Clark fired up.”
Clark and Mitchell didn’t get to play a lot together last season, with the former suiting up in just 13 games for the Fever due to a groin injury and a bone bruise. Mitchell carried the offensive load for Indiana in Clark’s absence, averaging 20.2 points on 45.6 percent shooting from the field.
Now that Clark is healthy again, though, expectations are high that she, Mitchell and Aliyah Boston can lead the Fever to a deeper playoff run. Last season, Indiana made it to the semifinals, losing 3-2 to the Las Vegas Aces.
The Fever wrapped up their preseason with a 105-57 victory over the Nigerian women’s national basketball team at Gainbridge Fieldhouse over the weekend. Indiana led by as many as 49 points and never trailed in the contest, with four players scoring in double figures.
Kelsey Mitchell posted a team-high 17 points. Damiris Dantas had 16 points and five rebounds, while Caitlin Clark and Makayla Thompson added 12 points apiece.
The Fever defense prevented Nigeria from hitting a three-pointer (0-for-12), while they knocked down 14 of their 31 attempts. Indiana also dished out 26 assists compared to Nigeria’s eight and forced 25 turnovers, leading to 32 points.
The Fever’s WNBA regular season will officially kick off on Saturday, when they’ll host the Dallas Wings.
