Few teams around the WNBA were as busy as the Indiana Fever this past offseason. After drafting Caitlin Clark in 2024, the Fever have been on a mission to surround the reigning Rookie of the Year with championship-level teammates; to that end, Indiana this spring acquired two-time WNBA champion DeWanna Bonner, a forward who will add elite scoring touch to the Fever lineup.
Indiana also re-signed guard Kelsey Mitchell while bringing in veterans Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham, all after hiring new head coach Stephanie White. The Fever's bread and butter will remain the pick-and-roll duo of Clark and Aliyah Boston -- but with so many new faces, Clark understands that it will take time to gel amid Indiana's newfound championship hype.
"Everybody knows we have so much talent, but at the same time, you've got to put that together," Clark told reporters on Monday. "It's going to take a little bit of time to figure things out."
After starting 2024 with 10 losses in their first 13 games, the Fever rallied to finish 20-20, ultimately losing in the playoffs to Bonner, White and the Connecticut Sun. Clark enters her second WNBA season as a potential league MVP candidate; only Tamika Catchings, back in 2011, has won that award while playing in Indiana.
But Clark is not thinking about MVPs or championships yet. As she told reporters at Fever training camp, she just wants to get to know everyone better -- and she already knows what fans will "love" about the 2025 team.
"It starts with building relationships, getting to know your teammates," Clark said. "But at the same time, we have so much great personality on this team. That's what's going to make it fun. That's what fans are going to love to watch."

Caitlin Clark says the Fever are still putting all the tremendous talent they have together and building chemistry.
