Canada is down a good one.
UFC Winnipeg has lost one of its more intriguing “Prelims” bouts just days before fight night (Sat., April 18, 2026), as Flyweight Mitch Raposo has withdrawn from his matchup against Allan Nascimento due to illness.
Nascimento broke the news on social media.
“Unfortunately, my fight here in Winnipeg has been canceled,” Nascimento wrote. “My opponent has been sick for a week, and we just received the news. Got everything right, preparation spot on, weight almost beaten… but is part of the game. We’re still ready; it’s only a matter of time. We’ll be back soon.”
Raposo’s coach Tyson Chartier, later confirmed the situation.
“Unfortunately, the fight is off. We’ve been battling illness since we arrived in Winnipeg and weren’t able to shake it in time to get medically cleared to compete. Big thank you to the UFC staff for taking great care of us all week and doing everything they could to keep the fight together.
Also want to apologize to our opponent and his team, and thank them for understanding and being willing to keep the fight on a future card in a couple of months. We’ll head back to the States, recover, and get right back into camp.”
It’s another frustrating setback for Nascimento (22-6), who has dealt with multiple cancellations throughout his UFC run that started in 2021, despite being on a four-fight win streak. He most recently submittedCody Durden in the second round.
As for Raposo (10-3), he was coming off his first UFC win — a decision victory over Azat Maksum — after starting his Octagon career 0-2.
The good news?
The matchup isn’t dead.
According to MMAJunkie, Nascimento vs. Raposo is already being targeted for UFC Vegas 119 on June 20.
