Jan. 12 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Browns will interview former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel for their head coaching vacancy, they announced Monday.

McDaniel, who was fired Thursday, will interview Monday. He will be the sixth candidate to interview with the Browns, who fired former coach Kevin Stefanski on Jan. 5.

The Browns' current candidate list includes offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher, Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

McDaniel led the Dolphins to a 35-33 regular-season record from 2022 through 2025. The Dolphins went 0-2 in the playoffs under McDaniel, who was a wide receivers coach for the Cleveland Browns in 2014.

McDaniel, 42, also worked as an offensive coordinator and run game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers and offensive assistant and wide receivers coach for the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders and Houston Texans.
