The Cleveland Browns have made another interview request in search of a new head coach after the firing of Kevin Stefanski.

For the first time in six years, the team is forced to search for a new lead man. Their list of candidates interviewed is already extensive, and now they've added another candidate to it. This time, they are bringing in a Sean McVay assistant, Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase. This news was broken by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Scheelhaase was a quarterback for the Illinois Fighting Illini from 2009 to 2013. In that time in the Big 10, Scheelhaase racked up over 8,500 yards and 55 touchdowns passing. A duel-threat, Scheelhaase rushed for another 2,000 in his college career.

He has coached football for the last decade. Starting his coaching career at his alma mater, Scheelhaas held titles as running backs coach and offensive assistant before moving over to Iowa State. During his tenure from 2018 to 2023 at Iowa State, Scheelhaase held positions as running backs coach, wide receivers coach, run game coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and offensive coordinator.

Spending the last two seasons with the Rams, Scheelhaase started as a passing game specialist and offensive assistant before being promoted to passing game coordinator this season.
