After weeks of speculation that the Cleveland Browns would select Shedeur Sanders with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the pick ended up being traded.
But it was a win-win for both Cleveland and Jacksonville.
The Browns got Mason Graham at No. 5 and still got Sanders ... in the fifth round.
While the jury is still out on the value of the selection and if Sanders' success in college will translate to playing on Sundays, one thing seems certain ... the pick was popular with fans.
According to cllct.com's Darren Rovell, Sanders' jersey is the No. 1 selling jersey among this year's rookie class.
On Monday, his jersey sales trailed former Colorado teammate Travis Hunter and No. 1 pick Cam Ward. But four days later, Sanders has taken the lead.
The funny part is that Sanders hasn't even chosen his jersey number for the upcoming season. But a logical assumption is that he'd wear No. 2, the same jersey he wore at Jackson State and Colorado. It's also his famous father, Deion's number at Florida State.
The Browns' quarterback room appears full now, after taking Sanders in the fifth round, Oregon's Dillon Gabriel in the third round, and signing Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett in the offseason.
But who will emerge as the starter?
Rumors are swirling that Pickett has the early vote, and he leads most betting lines as the calendar turns to May. But it'll take a full offseason and the preseason to determine who lines up under center in Game 1 of the 2025 NFL season for the Browns.
