Browns make firm Brendan Sorsby decision amid Shedeur Sanders questions originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Amidst all of the questions about what the Cleveland Browns are going to do with their quarterback situation in the short and long term, with questions about what they want to do with Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders as early as next season, the idea of bringing in Brendan Sorsby hasn't been viewed as impossible.

Sorsby, who will have to be selected in the supplemental draft, could be the long-term answer the Browns are looking for. He's proven throughout his college career that he can be a difference-maker at the highest level, but there will be questions about what he did off the field, and rightfully so.

The young man made a mistake, and unfortunately, he has to live with that.

Going after him would make a lot of sense, but according to the latest report from Cleveland.com, there isn't an expectation for the Browns to bid on his services in the supplemental draft.

“The Browns are unlikely to bid on Brendan Sorsby, who’s been in inpatient rehab for a gambling addiction, in the supplemental draft now that he plans to enter it, a league source tells cleveland.com,” Mary Kay Cabot wrote.

In some ways, I can understand why the Browns don't want to go in this direction. They've already been criticized for similar types of moves in the past, so bringing in another polarizing quarterback could really be the final straw for a lot of this fan base.
