Browns make decision on five-time Pro Bowler after Myles Garrett trade originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Myles Garrett was traded by the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams in one of the biggest blockbuster trades in recent NFL history.

Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, along with 2028 second and 2029 third-round picks for Garrett, is a huge return. After such a move, which signals the Browns are not going to contend in 2026, it wouldn't be a surprise if they traded more players, right?

Well, according to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, the Browns have made a trade decision on five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward after the Garrett deal.

"Don't sense this is a fire sale," Fowler reports. "Was told a hard no on Denzel Ward's availability, for example."

While it wouldn't have been a surprise if the Browns traded Ward after trading Garrett, such a trade doesn't look likely to happen at all.

Fowler is reporting that this isn't a full-scale fire sale for the Browns, but rather a one-off trade that they made simply because the value the Rams offered met their lofty demands.

Ward, the five-time Pro Bowl cornerback who has 18 career interceptions, two pick-sixes, 104 passes defended, four forced fumbles, 361 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and a 75.3 passer rating allowed, is not going anywhere.

Even though a trade would've made perfect sense after the Garrett blockbuster, the Browns are not willing to sell Ward or some of their other star players this offseason.
