The Cleveland Browns have met with another offensive tackle ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. This time, it is the behemoth offensive tackle from Alabama, Kadyn Proctor.
This comes after reports that the Browns are infatuated with the Alabama big man. This close to the draft, however, you never know what is real and what is a smoke screen.
Repairing a large chunk of their offensive line ahead of the draft in NFL free agency, the Browns have just left tackle and potentially center left to fill. This makes drafting a tackle a known need for the team, with the NFL Draft less than two weeks away. The Browns have been doing their due diligence on visiting with the offensive tackles in this class as well.
Proctor is just the latest.
Proctor currently sits 23rd on the consensus board ahead of the draft. Taking him with the sixth overall pick would certainly be a reach. However, if the Browns trade back into the first round, he could be firmly on the table.
Cory Kinnan from Daft on Draft, an NFL Draft website filled with scouting reports, film breakdowns, quarterback charting metrics, and more, gives his take on Proctor:
"The inability to sink his knees, effectively shift his weight, and hang off the edge at speed without straining is hard to look past. This is also why some see Proctor as a dominant guard who could fail inside. He’s dominant when he can remain frame-to-frame with the man across from him.
On an island at tackle, however, Proctor is going to go head-to-head with freaks who can reduce surface area, bend like a rubber band, and then the very next snap run right through his chest as well. That is a ton of curveballs for Proctor to have to deal with on a week-to-week basis."
This would be less than an ideal pick for the Browns if this is how it shakes out at the top.
