The Cleveland Browns drafted two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. With one of them being the high-profiled Shedeur Sanders, the big offseason question is what the team's quarterback depth chart will look like.
To begin the offseason, Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reported the depth chart will be just as the draft was -- Dillon Gabriel in front of Sanders.
"Gabriel will be ahead of Sanders at the start of spring ball just like he was in the draft, and it will be incumbent on Sanders to close the gap. Had Gabriel been off the board there, the Browns may have considered Jalen Milroe, who went No. 92 to the Seahawks," wrote Cabot.
The fact the Browns saw Jalen Milroe as a better prospect than Sanders as well is an indication that there could be a sizable gap between Gabriel and Sanders entering offseason workouts.
Cleveland also has veteran quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett on its roster.

Cabot added that Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees stated in January that decision-making was the top trait the organization was looking for in a signal-caller.
According to Cabot, the Browns also like the fact Gabriel played for three different college programs. Sanders has only played for his father, Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, in his entire football career.
Gabriel spent this past season for the Oregon Ducks, leading them to the No. 1 ranking in the country. Gabriel started the 2022 and 2023 seasons for the Oklahoma Sooners.
The No. 94 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Gabriel played the first three seasons of his college career with the UCF Knights. Gabriel's best statistical season with the Knights was 2020 when he threw for 3,570 yards and 32 touchdowns with only four interceptions.
After drafting Gabriel on Day 2, the Browns added Sanders 50 picks later at No. 144 overall in the fifth round.

Shedeur Sanders was under pressure on 168 dropbacks (most in college football).
- 41 sacks taken (most in draft class)
- 17 of 41 sacks attributed to Shedeur (41.5%)
- 44 total pressures were his fault (26.2%)
Dillon Gabriel was under pressure on just 96 dropbacks.
