The Denver Broncos are scheduled to select 20th overall in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft next week -- barring a trade.
The Broncos could trade up for a top prospect or move down to acquire more draft capital (general manager George Paton certainly seems open to that scenario).
If Denver does move down the board, what would the compensation look like? That depends on how far they moved down and how desperate a team is to move up.
Late last month, ESPN's Bill Barnwell did a fun NFL mock draft exercise with trades at all 32 picks in the first round. He had the Broncos moving down six spots in a swap with the Los Angeles Rams.
In exchange for pick No. 20, L.A. sends Denver picks Nos. 26 (first round) and 90 (third round) in Barnwell's mock. That certainly seems worth it for moving down just a few spots.
Overall, the Broncos currently hold seven draft picks, but that could change with trades. Stay tuned. The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Wisconsin from April 24-26.
