What are the Denver Broncos cooking?
Even after re-signing a large group of in-house free agents, the Broncos still have enough salary cap space to make outside signings. However, Denver is the last remaining team in the NFL that has yet to sign a free agent from another club.
It's clearly not a salary cap problem.
The Broncos restructured the contracts of outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper and guard Quinn Meinerz to create more cap space, and they could restructure more deals to create even more flexibility. It's hard to precisely calculate how much cap room is left because not all of the contract details are out yet, but Spotrac.com and OverTheCap.com both estimate the club has more than $21 million available.
That's certainly enough to do something. Maybe the team will add one of the veteran tight ends still available, or make a blockbuster trade? Fans would love to see some action.
We're still waiting for contract details for wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey, but it's likely at or near the league minimum, with little impact on the salary cap. Here's a look at the known 2026 cap hits for the team's key in-house signings thus far.
Denver has plenty of room to make outside additions. Perhaps a few moves are on the way. We'll track all of the latest news on Broncos Wire.
