Broncos Wire's 91-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at third-year offensive lineman Frank Crum, No. 73.
Before the Broncos: Crum (6-7, 315 pounds) hails from Laramie, Wyoming, which is a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit. Crum attended the University of Wyoming, where he played left and right tackle from 2018-2023. After redshirting the 2018 season, Crum played in 12 games (five starts) en route for the Wyoming offensive line to be one of 24 lines to be named for the Joe Moore Award Midseason honor roll.
In 2020, Crum appeared in and started all six games during the COVID-shortened season. In 2021, Crum was named an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention by Pro Football Focus after starting and playing in all 13 games for the Cowboys. In 2022, Crum played and started 12 games at left tackle, earning third-team All-Conference honors from Pro Football Focus and fourth-team All-Conference honors from Phil Steele before moving to right tackle prior to the 2023 season. In 2023, Crum started all 12 games. Crum excelled in the classroom as well, being named Academic All-Mountain West in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and was named a member of the 2023 Hampshire Honor Society.
Broncos tenure: Crum went undrafted and signed with Denver as the No. 1-ranked undrafted offensive lineman following the 2024 NFL draft. Crum was one of three undrafted free agents to make the Broncos' 53-man roster in 2024. In his rookie season, he played 33 total snaps on special teams and on offense.
In 2025, Crum got more playing time, and made the most of it. In Week 11, Crum blocked an extra point against the Kansas City Chiefs, which kept the game within three points. Denver would go on to win the game. Then, in the Broncos' playoff win over the Buffalo Bills, Crum entered team lore as he caught a screen pass from quarterback Bo Nix, rumbling, bumbling and stumbling into the end zone for a touchdown.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: High. Crum's legacy has likely only just begun. With an aging starting offensive line, Crum is one of the next in line to compete for a spot, whether it be as a guard or as a tackle. As fans saw in the AFC playoffs, coach Sean Payton is not afraid to use Crum as an eligible receiver. We could see Crum's on-field participation increase in some form or fashion in 2026, although his playing time will likely not rise to the level of a starter if everyone stays healthy.
