Broncos Wire's 91-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at rookie defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim, No. 98.

Before the Broncos: Onyedim (6-3, 292 pounds) was a five-year collegiate player, spending time at Iowa State (2022-24) and Texas A&M (2025). Onyedim was a versatile defensive player who played all over the line in college. As a member of the Cyclones, Onyedim played in 40 career games, making 90 total tackles (37 solo, 53 assisted), 12 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery and one pass deflection. In 2024, Onyedim was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 defender. In his lone season with the Aggies, Onyedim had the best year of his collegiate career, with career highs in total tackles (48), tackles for loss (8.5), and sacks (2.5). He also forced a fumble.

Broncos tenure: Onyedim was a partial participant at the 2026 NFL combine, but ran a 5.02 40-yard dash at Texas A&M's pro day prior to April's draft. Onyedim was selected by the Denver Broncosin the third round (66th overall) of the 2026 NFL draft. Onyedim participated in the Broncos' OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and was the final member of Denver's 2026 draft class to sign a four-year rookie contract. He'll make his pro debut during preseason this summer.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Key backup player. Onyedim has the opportunity to learn the Broncos' scheme behind former Cyclone teammate Eyioma Uwazurike and the likes of Zach Allen and Sai'vion Jones, among others. Onyedim, the team's highest pick in April's draft, is essentially a 53-man roster lock as a rotational backup. He will likely get an opportunity to compete for a starting job later in his career.
