Broncos Wire's 91-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at second-year defensive lineman Sai'vion Jones, No. 95.
Before the Broncos: Jones (6-5, 280 pounds) was a three-year starter at LSU from 2021-24. Playing in 51 total games, Jones recorded 99 total tackles (38 solo, 61 assisted), 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and five pass breakups.
Jones started all 13 games in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, Jones had his best statistical year with the Bayou Bengals, finishing with 40 total tackles (19 solo, 21 assisted), 4.5 sacks, two pass deflections, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
Broncos tenure: Jones was invited to the 2025 NFL draft, where he competed in the broad jump (9-11), and vertical jump (33 inches), but declined to participate in the 40-yard dash at the combine. However, Jones did eventually run an unofficial 4.74 40-yard dash at the LSU pro day. Jones was selected by the Denver Broncos with the second-to-last pick (101st overall) in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft.
In 2025, Jones made the 53-man roster but only appeared in three games and 39 total snaps (per Pro Football Reference), recording just one fumble recovery through the year.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Possible starter. Jones feels like the natural fit to replace the now-departed John Franklin-Myers on the defensive line. Now in his second full year in defensive coordinator Vance Joseph's system, Jones has a chance to be a starter on an increasingly younger Broncos team. The job is not automatically his; he will have to battle against the likes of Eyioma Uwazurike, Jordan Jackson and Matt Henningsen for the starting role.
