Broncos playoff scenarios: 6 ways Denver can clinch a spot

After the Los Angeles Chargers (9-4) won on Monday, the Denver Broncos (11-2) can't clinch a division title this weekend, but they could punch their ticket to the playoffs.

There are six scenarios that would see the Broncos clinch a postseason berth in Week 15. The first and simplest path would be to beat the Green Bay Packers at home on Sunday. With a win, Denver would improve to 12-2, ensuring that they would reach the playoffs at minimum as a Wild Card seed, even if they ended up 12-5.

Four other scenarios are unlikely as they involve ties, and the fifth scenario would require specific results from two other clubs. Take a look, courtesy of the NFL's communications team:

1. DEN win OR
2. DEN tie + LAC loss OR
3. DEN tie + JAX loss OR
4. DEN tie + HOU loss or tie OR
5. DEN tie + IND loss or tie OR
6. HOU loss or tie + IND loss or tie as long as both games don't end in a tie

The Broncos and New England Patriots (11-2) are the only AFC teams that could clinch a playoff spot this weekend, and the Los Angeles Rams (10-3) are the only NFC team. There are four weeks remaining in the NFL's regular season.
