If anyone knows Bo Nix, it's Davis Webb. The Denver Broncos' new offensive coordinator served as the club's quarterbacks coach for Nix's first two seasons in the NFL, and he's been by the QB's side for all the highs and lows.

Before switching to coaching, Webb was a backup NFL quarterback from 2017-2022. He was a reserve QB with the Buffalo Bills going into Josh Allen's third season in 2020. Allen took a step forward that year, earning his first career Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro nod. Denver fans would love to see Nix take a similar leap in Year 3.

“I think he’s right on par with the other guys I’ve been around going into Year 3," Webb said of Nix on Saturday. "I’m really satisfied where he’s at, both getting in and out of plays, getting to the huddle, getting in and out of the huddle fast, checking plays when it’s appropriate, not overthinking, getting completions underneath and using his feet."

Nix, of course, is coming back from a broken ankle that prevented him from playing in the AFC Championship game last season. Nix's health will now be a key storyline going into the 2026 campaign.

"I think the injury last year, it was important for him to kind of move around a little bit early here, and I think he’s done a really good job," Webb said. "I’m really satisfied with where he is.”

Nix figures to play at some point during preseason, giving fans a first look at the quarterback since his injury — and a first look at Webb serving as the club's new play caller.
