In his latest 2026 NFL mock draft for the league's official website, Charles Davis has the Denver Broncos adding another talented edge defender to Vance Joseph's stacked rotation.
Davis projects Oklahoma pass rusher R Mason Thomas landing in Denver at pick No. 30 in April's draft. "Broncos Pro Bowler Nik Bonitto is the pass-rushing leader of a defensive line on a multi-season tear," Davis wrote for NFL.com. "His fellow former Sooner will be eager to join the party."
Thomas (6-2, 241 pounds) recorded 49 tackles, 15.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two pass breakups in his final two seasons (23 games) with the Sooners. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.67 seconds at the NFL combine.
It's hard to imagine Denver using a first-round pick on a pass rusher when they already have Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto, Jonah Elliss, Que Robinson and Johnny Walker under contract (and Dondrea Tillman seems likely to return as an exclusive rights free agent). The Broncos are stacked at the position, so Thomas would be a curious pick.
The 2026 NFL draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25. After receiving two compensatory picks, the Broncos will hold nine selections this spring.
