Brewers could actually push Mets to trade Freddy Peralta originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Milwaukee Brewers already traded Freddy Peralta to the New York Mets.
They could actually be part of the reason the Mets trade Peralta away again after less than a full season.
That's because the Mets are scuffling, Peralta is in a contract year, and their upcoming schedule is brutal.
Included in that schedule are, yep you guessed it, the Brewers.
"Of the Mets' 47 remaining games before the deadline, they have nine against the Phillies, nine more against the Braves, three at Toronto, three at Milwaukee and three at home against the Dodgers," ESPN's Bradford Doolittle wrote as part of a new article on Wednesday. "It's never too early to inquire about the availability of Freddy Peralta."

It'd be a major disappointment if the Mets had to deal Peralta already, of course, but this season already qualifies as a major disappointment, so maybe it's just a matter of time.
The Mets still have nearly two months until the trade deadline. That is enough time to turn things around.
It might just not be enough time to do it against some of the best teams in the National League.
"Even though the Mets have started to play better, it might already be too late," Doolittle writes.
The Mets likely had visions of signing Peralta to a long-term extension at some point.
Now, if the Brewers and their fellow NL powerhouses have anything to say about it, Peralta could be on the move before the deadline.
